SHTF Forge is software provided as a single-file web application that runs entirely on your device. The Free Edition is provided at no charge. The Forge Edition is a one-time license to use the software’s paid features, including future updates, for personal, non-commercial use. No account is created, and no personal data is transmitted to us: the software has no server component.

Subject to these terms, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use SHTF Forge on devices you own or control. You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, republish, or commercially exploit the software, its content, or license keys, and you may not remove or circumvent licensing or attribution notices. In the spirit of the tool, you are welcome to read, audit, and inspect the source of the application — verifying that it does what we say is the whole point. That permission to inspect is not permission to copy, repackage, or redistribute it.
The software contains educational content on first aid, resuscitation, water treatment, food preservation, navigation, and related subjects. This content is written in our own words from public doctrine, principally the 2025 American Heart Association / American Academy of Pediatrics Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (published October 2025), Stop the Bleed bleeding-control guidance, the World Health Organization oral-rehydration formulation, the USDA Complete Guide to Home Canning and National Center for Home Food Preservation (for food-preservation content), and published public-health and search-and-rescue material. It is reviewed periodically and stamped with a review date inside the application.
Calorie, water, fuel, power, yield, timing, and readiness figures are planning estimates derived from general models and from data you enter. They are not predictions and are not guarantees of sufficiency, survival, or safety. Simulation results are illustrative scenarios, not forecasts. Individual requirements vary with health, age, climate, exertion, and circumstances beyond the software’s knowledge.
All data you enter is stored locally on your device. We do not receive, transmit, store, or have any ability to recover it. If you clear browser data, lose the device, or forget a Vault Lock passphrase, your data is permanently unrecoverable. This is a deliberate design property, not a defect. You are solely responsible for maintaining backups.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that its content is complete or current.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, and except where such limitation is prohibited: (a) we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, property, or business, arising from or relating to the software or its content, however caused; and (b) our total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the software will not exceed the amount you actually paid for it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or under mandatory consumer protection legislation. If you are a consumer, you may have statutory rights that these terms do not affect, and those rights prevail over any conflicting provision here.
You acknowledge that preparedness, wilderness, homesteading, and emergency activities are inherently risky, that decisions you make remain entirely your own, and that you use the software and its output at your own risk. You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the software, your reliance on its content, or your violation of these terms or applicable law, except to the extent such claims arise from our own gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
A 30-day refund is available on request, for any reason, by emailing contact@shtfforge.com. Payments and refunds are processed by our merchant of record, who may apply their own procedures. Statutory refund rights, where they apply, are unaffected.
Payment processing is handled by a third-party merchant of record. Optional map tiles are served by third-party providers when you are online and choose to use the map. Optional local AI features connect only to software running on your own machine. We do not sell, share, or receive your data.
We may update these terms for future releases; the version published at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in force, and the unenforceable provision applies to the maximum extent permitted.
